Questions from the Page Curator

The big question for me is: Are we reconceptualising urban justice and sustainability, or is the key point that thinking deeply about sustainability and justice changes our understanding of cities?

This could imply further questions such as:

  • Do we need to reconsider how we think about sustainability and justice?
  • Does thinking about sustainability and justice together change how we understand each by itself?
  • Does taking both sustainability and justice into account change our understandings of urban futures?
  • What are the implications of any such reconceptualisations for practical action in cities?

I would also be interested to explore chains of evidence: in what cases can we demonstrate that alternative conceptualisations achieve tangible results, in other words lead to concrete outcomes that are more sustainable and/or just?
