In the new reality of physical distancing due to the Caronavirus communities need ways to build a resilient local food economy, ensure livelihoods for food producers, and safeguard access to food for citizens.

An innovative approach is the Open Food Network (OFN), an open source, not-for-profit, online platform, which allows food producers to sell directly through a virtual farmers market.

OFN is already deployed in 13 countries. Through the platform communities and social enterprises can manage buying groups and supply produce through networks of food hubs and shops.
