User guide

We welcome everyone to share their knowledge and experience by contributing to the wiki pages (in)directly. There are three ways to add to the wiki:

  1. Direct editing and adding to specific pages and/or creating a new page
  2. Commenting via talk pages
  3. Contact curator of wiki page directly through (via User Talk pages)

In some instances some of the curators of the wiki's identified a knowledge gap based on the first round of mapping and formulated a specific question to the rest Community of Practice. These questions can be found in the discussion tab.

Contact urbana@drift.eur.nl to ask for an account and password.

Links to main sources of help

  • Contents Wiki user help: you can find all the help pages of wiki media here.
  • Editing: It is relatively easy toe edit pages. Click the "Edit" page tab at the top of the page. Make changes to the text. Click the "Save page" button.
  • Starting a new page: start a new page by creating a link
  • Formatting: You can format your text by using wiki markup. This consists of normal characters like asterisks, apostrophes or equal signs which have a special function in the wiki, sometimes depending on their position.
  • Links: you can link to pages in the same wiki or to external pages at other websites.

Guide to commenting via talk pages

Every wiki page has an associated talk page, which can be used for discussion and communicating with other users. Talk pages can be accessed by clicking the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. Simply edit the page as normal to add your comment. A talk page is actually very similar to any other wiki page, but it is in the "Talk" namespace, to keep it separate from the articles in the "(Main)" namespace (See Help:Namespaces). As with any wiki page, you can edit it, link to it, and view the editing history.

In order to keep the discussion structured, we suggest everyone to follow some simple editing conventions:

  • Always sign your name after your comments. Use the four tildes "Karlijn Schipper (talk) 11:43, 18 October 2019 (UTC)" wiki syntax (or the signature button Signature button in the toolbar above the editing textbox). For more information see Help:Signatures.
  • Start a new discussion with a ==level 2 heading== at the bottom of the page (or use the "+" tab).
  • Indent replies with colons (:) at the beginning of the line.
