In the new reality of physical distancing due to the Caronavirus communities need ways to build a resilient local food economy, ensure livelihoods for food producers, and safeguard access to food for citizens.

An innovative approach is the Open Food Network (OFN), an open source, not-for-profit, online platform, which allows food producers to sell directly through a virtual farmers market. https://www.openfoodnetwork.org/

OFN is already deployed in 13 countries. Through the platform communities and social enterprises can manage buying groups and supply produce through networks of food hubs and shops.
