With the Peace Garden, we respect the dependence of humans on nature as part of ~~nature.One of the study's result is: “an alternative educational model emerged: ‘Out of School Space’ for intercultural and interreligious dialogue in the~~ nature. Being out of touch with nature makes you disconnected to the most natural thing you can actually experience". 	The Urban Gardening Peace Project http://www.urban-peace.org/ is located on the grounds of the Alevi community of Wuppertal (AKM) and works closely with several actors in the hearth of the city. The community garden invites different cultures and actors to establish a peaceful relationship with each other and at the same time to resume the dialogue with nature. The vision of the pilot project is to create in the sacred place a nature-based conflict transformation model while facilitating intercultural knowledge exchange process. Thus, this creative "Peace-building" project has a cultural and social dimension as well as a scientific approach to reduce the power of the drivers of injustice in the context of sustainable urban development.As a pilot study it has been realized in Wuppertal in order to generate an in-depth, multi-faceted understanding of a complex issue in a real-life laboratory context. It was not only set up to analyse root-cause problems but also sought to propose culturally sensitive solutions by the help of peace-building approaches. As a result, the group members - mainly women - began to be part of change for a constructive future and the community they live in. Parallelly, the project team had the opportunity to present this local idea of creating an intercultural peace garden in an urban space at the level of the EU Parliement funded UrbanA project, at the international Forum of European Alevi communities and elsewhere. At this point, the study started to investigate the ability of individuals to change over time in response to transformation and evaluated how peace-building may create a nature-based ~~method~~ to support processes towards sustainable and just cities. Additionally, peace-building catalysed inclusive and micro-level interactions during the participatory research approach. It didn’t just change individuals’ attitudes and behaviours but also helped to build bridges in between several actors in the city, used transformative tools and facilitated a better understanding of the root-cause problems.
